TLTO Partners with SATSA to Promote African Tourism

Tanzania Local Tour Operators (TLTO) has entered into a strategic partnership with the Southern African Tourism Services Association (SATSA) to promote Africa as a top tourist destination. The partnership was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed at the World Travel Market Africa held in Cape Town.
The two non-profit groups are run by their members and look out for their interests in different parts of the tourism industry. SATSA gives access to more than 1,100 tourism products in Southern Africa, while TLTO represents more than 200 tour operators in Tanzania.

As part of their agreement to work together, the two associations will promote each other’s members and services, lobby for government and stakeholder support, give small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) information and help, and promote each other’s destinations.
The first collaborative effort under the partnership will be an online business exchange session in August, where product owners from both countries will have an opportunity to introduce themselves. This will be followed by a hosted visit and a booth opportunity for at least 10 South African products at the Swahili International Tourism Expo (S!TE) in October.

Ambrose Mtui, the Secretary General of TLTO, said that the partnership will improve the quality and credibility of the services offered by both organizations, which will be good for their members and travelers. He also said that the partnership fits with TLTO’s goal of making Tanzania a top travel destination while helping the local economy.

David Frost, CEO of SATSA, agreed with this and said that the partnership will improve tourism in both countries and give members of both associations new opportunities.

By collaborating, SATSA and TLTO are setting an example for other African associations to follow. It’s good to see organizations in the tourism industry work together to promote tourism in Africa, help local economies, and create long-term opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The partnership between SATSA and TLTO will definitely bring more tourists to Africa. This will help promote the continent as a top travel destination with many different cultures, beautiful landscapes, and experiences you’ll never forget.
